Dorcas International Career Mentoring Program is designed to match volunteers from the community with refugee/immigrant clients for additional support. Mentors spend time with clients who are trying to get on a career pathway in the United States, their new home country. Many clients look to improve their English with someone who does not speak their native language; however mentor activities are not limited to just practicing English. The main goal of the mentoring program is to create a relationship between the client and their mentor, to help them become more independent and self-sufficient within their new community. Volunteers should be available at least two to four hours a month for a minimum of three months.
